Trader shot dead in Quezon, girl hit by stray bullet
SARIAYA, Quezon – A businessman died after he was peppered with bullets by a motorcycle back rider, and a 15-year-old girl was hurt after being hit by a stray bullet along Guisguis Lutucan Road at Barangay Sto. Cristo Friday.
Police said the victim was a motor parts shop owner and resident of Bgy. Janagdong 1 suffered multiple gunshot wounds and eventually died in a hospital.
While the minor, of Bgy. Lutucan Malabag sustained a bullet wound in the left arm.
The businessman was rushed to Candelaria Doctors Hospital but died on arrival, while the girl was brought to Lucena United Doctors Hospital in Lucena City.
Officers on case PSMS Andro Radones and PMSg Gerardo Eballa said before the incident, the adult victim was in front of his shop when approached by two unidentified men on board a motorcycle.
They said the back rider quickly pulled a pistol and opened fire, hitting the trader several times and the girl.
The duo then fled toward Bgy. Guisguis Talon leaving the wounded Marquez, police said.
Responding probers recovered pieces 12 pieces of fired cartridge case for cal. 45 pistol at the crime scene.
Police are still conducting a follow-up investigation to gather additional evidence and possible eyewitness while looking for close-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at nearby establishments for possible identification of the suspects.
