Pregnant woman hit by stray bullet

A 45-YEAR-OLD businessman was killed while a pregnant woman was injured in a shooting incident triggered by a fight over right of way in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

Victim Felix Soqueño, 45, of Bgy. Boling Oeste, Sta. Barabara, died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Leonisa Solas, a pregnant woman, who happened to be outside her house, was hit by a stray bullet on the leg. She was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Suspect Rey Gabata, a seafarer, fled with his family after the shooting.

Witnesses said prior to the gun attack, Soqueño and Gabata, who were neighbors, argued over a right of way.

The argument became intense until the suspect shot the victim several times.

Recovered at the crime scene were five spent shells from a cal. .30 gun.

Police are pursuing the suspect.
