HILONGOS, Leyte – THE Tingog Party-list group led by Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez took center stage during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID 2019) vaccination drive here Thursday after being awarded by the local government for championing the welfare and interests of the people.

Hilongos Mayor Albert Villahermosa hailed the Tingog party-list group represented by its nominee, actress-singer Karla Estrada, proud mother of actor and recording artist Daniel Padilla, for bringing social protection projects, programs and services to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to the community and his constituents.

The Tingog Party-list partnered with the Department of Health (DoH) and Hilongos’ local government unit (LGU) led by Villahermosa in providing free meal for 1,000 persons who were given COVID-19 jabs at Brgy. Western Poblacion here.

During the event, Estrada turned over 10 brand new wheelchairs to the physically impaired beneficiaries here to boost their morale.

Villahermosa lauded Tingog’s unselfishness in providing the needed assistance to Hilongos as pandemic continues to unleash its negative impact to the livelihood of the people.

“In grateful recognition of the meritorious service and generous support accorded to the municipality of Hilongos. In the successful conduct of feeding program and the turnover of ten wheelchairs,” Villahermosa said in the certificate of appreciation that Estrada received in behalf of Tingog Party-list group.

Villahermosa also thanked the group for its support to Hilongos through the medical and burial assistance provided to them.

On top of this, Villahermosa said Tingog will come back for the upcoming payout of cash-for-work program for displaced workers under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) of Labor Sec. Silvestre “Bebot” Bello III.
