SILANG, Cavite – The local government unit (LGU) here in partnership with Arn Central Development Corporation (ACDC) will launch a groundbreaking of the Silang Integrated Waste Management and Treatment Facility (SIWMTF) Project at the town’s Material Recovery Facility in Barangay Tubuan along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway on Saturday, April 23, 2022, through the public-private partnership (PPP) program.

Silang Mayor Corie Poblete and officials from ACDC will break ground by burying a time capsule of the P1.24B waste management project to solve the long-standing waste problems in the said locality.

The processing type – material diversion and conversion project can undertake around 350 tons to 500 tons of garbage per day and a total disposal capacity of 300 tons per day once operated.

The said soon-to-rise wastewater treatment center can process around 100 cubic meters per day.

The said project can produce recyclable materials, compost fertilizer, and defuse derived fuel and will reduce the environmental impact by 20%.

SIWMTF aims to substantially reduce the bulk size of mixed municipal solid waste and to recover useful resources that can employ around 200 to 300 individuals.

According to Mayor Poblete, this project will be the first in Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) region and for the long-term solution of the waste problem in Silang town.
