And the main star of the Metro Manila Film Festival movie, ‘A Family of Two (A Mother and Son Story’ (with Alden Richards) says it’s not new and she has experienced it in the past. Sharon, after her separation from Gabby Concepcion, had been involved romantically with other actors like Robin Padilla and Richard Gomez and they, too, have parted ways.

But according to Sharon, it is really heart-breaking for fans who have invested so much love for the team.

What is worth praising about the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) headed by People’s Journal entertainment editor, Eugene Asis, they make their choices so balanced between mainstream movies and independent films. Kaya alam mo na talagang fair sila sa kanilang judgment.

Kaya we hope this group thrives longer in the years to come. Nakakatuwa ring panoorin sina Piolo Pascual and Iza Calzado as hosts of the affair. Its producer, Airtime Marketing headed by Tessie Celestino-Howard deserves a pat in the back. Congrats!

A thrilling tale of betrayal and revenge

SEE the mystery unfolds in “Ganti-Ganti”, a film by McArthur ‘Direk Ma’c Alejandre, written by Ricky Lee.

In the movie, Angeli Khang plays Vicky who comes from a rich family. Only in her 20s, she is already married to an older, but equally moneyed man. All the money in the world, however, does not guarantee a happy marriage. In one of her visits to a bar, Vicky meets a man that’s about her age. One thing leads to another, and they end up in bed.

Sean De Guzman is Ted, the guy Vicky meets at a bar. Being naked with her makes him see her heavily bruised body. He finds out that it was caused by her sadistic husband. All of a sudden, Ted acts like Vicky’s knight in shining armor who is willing to do anything – even murder – to free and protect her from the hell that she’s going through.

Mark Anthony Fernandez plays Arthur, Vicky’s husband. His cruelty towards Vicky might just cost him his life. But being rich and powerful can still make wonders for him.

Yen Durano plays Georgia, Arthur’s employee who holds a serious grudge against him. She joins Ted and Vicky in plotting Arthur’s murder.

On the surface, “Ganti-Ganti” seems like the antagonists and protagonists are clearly outlined, but viewers can expect the unexpected from the creative minds of Ricky Lee and Direk Mac. There are layers to the individual stories of each character, and their involvement with one another will blow your mind.
