Serbisyo ng COS, JO workers extended
IN-EXTEND ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang serbisyo ng mga manggagawang klasipikado bilang contract of service (COS) at job order (JO) sa gobyerno.
Sa halip na sa Disyembre 2024, mananatili sa trabaho ang mga COS at JO workers hanggang sa Disyembre 2025.
Base ito sa kautusan ni Pangulong Marcos matapos matalakay ang probisyon sa implementasyon ng Commission on Audit-Department of Budget and Management (COA -DBM) Circular No. 2 na may pamagat na Updated Rules and Regulations Governing COS and JO workers in Government.
Ayon sa Pangulo, layunin ng extension na makalikha ng pool of government workers na kayang gawin ang trabaho sa pamahalaan at sa huli maging qualified para sa plantilla positions.
Utos din ni Pangulong Marcos na magsagawa ng training para matulungan ang mga COS at JO workers na makapasa sa civil service examination.
Ginawa ni Pangulong Marcos ang utos matapos ang sectoral meeting sa Palasyo kasama ang DBM, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Civil Service Commission at Commission on Audit.
“Pag-aralan natin, just look at the numbers, the data on average, government agencies. How many of their employees are contractual?” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“How many items in their plantilla proper are not filled? How many are contractual as a percentage of the total number of employees? Kasi the percentages are one of the most important. Then titingnan natin is average. [It will] give us an idea how people are using the system,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Base sa talaan noong Hunyo 30, 2023, COS at JO ang 29.68 percent (832,812) ng government workforce, mas mataas sa 29.71 percent kumpara noong 2022.
