San Pedro stays unbeaten

SAN Pedro City-AMB, Calamba City-Alta CalamBAGO and Paete-PGFlex pulled off impressive victories over their respective rivals in the 2022 National Basketball League (NBL) Inter-City Basketball Championship at the ARS Warriors Sports Center in San Pedro City, Laguna.

San Pedro-AMB crushed Sto Tomas Batangas-Mr.Cow, 69-34, for their third straight win and the solo lead in this nine team tournament organized by BAP Region 4 head Leonardo “Ding” Andres.

Rachel Sablaon, who was named “Best Player of the Game”, scattered 18 points for San Pedro-AMB of Congresswoman Ma. Rene Ann Lourdes C. Matibag and Atty. Melvin A. Matibag. and coach Aaron Mendoza.

Former Lyceum mainstay 6-5 Seraj Elmejrab contributed 10 points.

Emman Navalta and Gio Lopez scored 11 and 10 points. respectively. for Sto Tomas, which suffered its third straight loss.

Calamba defeated Binan City-Vice Gel, 76-62, and Paete-PGFlex downed Cabuyao City-DenHa Tigers, 90-81, to share second place with 2-0 win-lossrecords.

Handled by coach Francis Natividad and team consultant Michael Sydiangco the Alta CalamBAGO relied on John Lester Maurillo, Shawn Dominic Algire, Jan Henrick Natividad and Justin Ramilo to roll back Biñan

Maurillo topscored with 20 points, followed by Algire with 14 and Natividad and Ramilo with 10 points each.

Former Letran College player Sam DiOcampo topscored for Biñan with 15 points.

Biñan City fell to 2-1.

Paete of former nationalteam coach Johny Tam leaned on Adam Madrelejos, Brian Ilad and Byron Alano in defeating Cabuyao.

Madrelejos topscored with 22 points, followed by Ilad and Alano with 14 points each for the PG Flex team supported team Paete of Mayor Ronald B. Cosico.

Playing coach Carlos Fenequito and James Waliwat scored 17 and 13 points for Cabuyao, which suffered their third straight loss.

Santa Rosa City defeated Nasugbu, Batangas-Divertex, 68-60, for its second win in three outings.

Sean Michael Sandoval fired a game-high 36 points, including six triples, to power the JayAr Dichoso- mentored Lions of Mayor Arlene Arcillas totheir econd win in three outings.

Dan Lord Magpantay and Ejhay Canete carried the fight for Nasugbu with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Romulo Raytos is the commissioner while Marcial Macapanton and Joenald Pacquiao head the technical committee. AA
