Romualdez: PBBM accomplished a lot during US visit
ASIDE from the millions of dollars in investment pledges and thousands of jobs that await Filipinos, the country’s external security problem was also addressed during the meeting of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. to US Pres. Joe Biden recently, according to House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.
“The President has accomplished so many things in just a very short time. Milyon-milyong dolyar ang asahan natin na investments, na pangako ni Pres. Biden. Bukod pa riyan yung libo-libong trabaho na available partikular sa ating mga seaman sa mga US shipping companies, ayon yan mismo sa mga employers sa Amerika,” said Speaker Romualdez.
The lawmaker from Leyte also said the US government promised to strengthen the military defense of the Philippines.
Speaker Romualdez also announced that even members of the US Congress he met with also expressed support to the Philippines.
“Our American counterparts in Congress assured us na susuportahan tayo sa usaping pang-ekonomiya at seguridad sa South East Asia,” Romualdez added.
