Rider yields shabu during ‘Oplan Sita’

LUCENA CITY— Policemen manning a checkpoint collared a 38-year- old rider who yielded shabu worth almost P.4 million worth during the conduct of ‘Oplan Sita’ along Quezon Avenue Extension, Brgy. Cotta, in this city on Monday night.

City police chief, Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea identified the nabbed suspect as Lindsey Roy Ayapana, of Brgy. Mapagong, Pagbilao, Quezon.

Albacea said that Ayapana was driving his motorcycle when he was flagged down by policemen manning a checkpoint under Oplan Sita at around 8cp.m.

Instead of pulling over, Albacea said the suspect sped off.

Minutes later, Albacea said the fleeing suspect was blocked by another group of cops who placed him under arrest.

The suspect’s motorcycle yielded six heat- sealed plastic sachets containing 18.47 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P376,788.00.

The suspect was charged with violations of Sec 11, Art II of R.A. 9165 (Possession of dangerous drugs and was detained at the City Lock Jail.
