PNP-CIDG agents nab 4 over loose firearms

FOUR men in possession of loose firearms in Central Visayas were hauled to jail by the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CODG) last Friday, said PNP-CIDG director, Major General Albert Ignatius D. Ferro.

Ferro said that recovered from the suspects were several unlicensed firearms and live ammunition as well as prohibited drugs.

Two of the suspects identified as Noel Angco and Jordy Camangyan were arrested in separate buy-busts in Lapu-Lapu City.

Angco was placed under arrest after he sold a caliber .38 revovler to an undercover officer. Confiscated from the suspect were a cal. .38 revolver with four live ammunition and the marked money.

Camangyan yielded a loaded .38 revolver and five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu.

Both were tagged as members of a syndicate involved in illegal drug trafficking and gunrunning in Cebu.

The 3rd suspect identified as Jayson Patrick Malasaga was arrested during a sting in the city while also led to the recovery of a .38 revolver, the buy-bust money and 10 plastic sachets containing shabu.

The 4th Noel Hermoso yielded a .38 revolver with five live ammunition during another operation in Cebu City. The suspect was accused of involvement in robbery-holdup, gun-for-hire and illegal drug trafficking activities in Cebu province.

All suspects are facing criminal charges, said Ferro.
