PNP arrests 2 more wanted persons in Davao, Sulu

TWO most wanted persons including a notorious member of Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) were arrested in two separate operations conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Davao de Oro and Jolo, Sulu.

The first suspect identified as Ricardo Romero, 41, was arrested for five counts of qualified rape in Pantukan, Davao de Oro. Seized from him were a Caliber .45 1911 Pistol; Caliber .45 magazine assembly; six Caliber .45 live ammunitions; and an improvised marble gun.

In a separate operation, CIDG operatives arrested a sub-leader of the terrorist Abu Sayyaf Group- Daulah Islamiya who is accused in a string of criminal cases in Sulu.

The bandit was identified as Abubakar Abdulkadil alias Basai Nuran Basaron. Basaron Arok, 35.

He was arrested in Brgy. San Raymundo, Jolo, Sulu on Wednesday morning by operatives of CIDG Sulu Provincial Field Unit backed by PNP Special Action Force and Jolo Police Station.

Basaron is accused in two separate cases for kidnapping for ransom and homicide and five cases of murder in Tawi-Tawi.
