PDEA, PNP stings net P17-M shabu

THREE known -high-value targets were arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Philippine National Police which resulted in the confiscation of some P17 million worth of shabu during separate anti-narcotics operations on Saturday in Muntinlupa and Caloocan cities.

Two of the suspects identified thru their aliases ‘Jonny,’42; and ‘Lyn,’40, were arrested in a sting conducted by undercover officers from the PDEA National Capital Region and the Muntinlupa City Police Station in a subdivision in Barangay Tunasan in Muntinlupa City, at around 7 p.m.

Southern Police District Director Brigadier General Mark D. Pespes said the suspects yielded two aluminum foil packs containing 2,000 grams of suspected shabu valued at P13.6 million.

The packs were labeled ‘Guanyinwang’ with Chinese characters.

The 3rd suspect identified as William Isanan,’ 42, of Baesa, Caloocan City was arrested in an anti-narcotics operation in Bgy. 162, Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City.

The suspect yielded some 500 grams of shabu worth P3.4 million and the buy-bust money. Before his arrest, the accused was placed under surveillance amid intelligence reports that he is involved in big-time drug trafficking activities in the northern part of Metro Manila.

All three suspects were charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
