THE best and the brightest in the PBA Season 46 will be honored by the PBA Press Corps during a colorful awarding ceremony at Novotel Manila Araneta Center.

San Miguel Corporation sports director and Barangay Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua will lead the awardees during the 7 p.m. ceremony.

Chua will receive the prestigious Danny Floro Executive of the Year award following another successful season that saw the Kings captured the import-flavored conference for the fourth time in the last five years.

This is the second time that Chua will receive the award named in honor of the late amiable Crispa Redmanizers team manager and owner Danny Floro.

Chua, who first won the award in 2018, joins SMC president and chief executive officer Ramon S. Ang, First Pacific Company Ltd. managing director and chief executive officer Manny V.

Pangilinan, current PBA chairman Ricky Vargas, Alaska team owner Wilfred Uytengsu, former PBA commissioner Jun Bernardino, and former RFM team manager Elmer Yanga as among the two-time recipients of the award.

PBA legend and now Bulakan, Bulacan mayor Vergel Meneses is the special guest of honor.

Meneses, one of the PBA’s “25 Greatest Players”, will also personally receive the President’s Award in celebration of the 25th year anniversary of him winning the MVP award, and then serving his first term as mayor back in 2019.

The 53-year-old Meneses, nicknamed “Aerial Voyager” during his playing years, was selected for the award during the virtual staging of the PBAPC awards held last year.

Also to be honored with an award handed out by the men and women regularly covering the PBA beat are Arwind Santos (Defensive Player of the Year), June Mar Fajardo (Comeback Player of the Year), Allein Maliksi (Quality Minutes), Mikey Williams (Scoring Champion), Joshua Munzon, Jamie Malonzo, Calvin Oftana, Williams, and Santi Santillan (All-Rookie Team), the quartet of Williams, Ian Sangalang, Robert Bolick, and Matthew Wright (Order of Merit) and teams San Miguel and NorthPort (Game of the Season).
