FORMER Akbayan Partylist Rep. Barry Gutierrez has denounced Vice President Sara Duterte, for allegedly giving tribute to China, while being silent against the harassment it is doing in the West Philippine Sea, which he said has nothing to do with her job as Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Gutierrez also laid down the responsibilities of a DepEd secretary.

Maki-ribbon cutting sa mga pribadong kumpanya sa mga event na wala namang kinalaman sa edukasyon,” according to Gutierrez, who is the former spokesperson of former Vice President Leni Robredo.

It can be recalled that Duterte released a video, greeting China on their 73rd Founding Anniversary, using Mandarin language.

Gutierrez said that the real job of a DepEd secretary is to give attention of the problem of the education sector.

Gutierrez also emphasized that what Duterte should be concerned about is the current state of education in the country.
