Over 10K suspects fall in QCPD anti-crime ops

QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III said 10,174 persons were rounded up during the intensified anti-criminality and anti-drug operations in Quezon City.

The operations were reportedly conducted from November 14 to 20, 2022, that resulted in the arrest of 81 suspects for illegal drugs; 39 “most wanted persons” (MWPs) and 24 other wanted persons; 61 for illegal gambling; and 9,969 violators of city ordinances such as jaywalking, littering urinating/drinking/smoking in public places, and violation of discipline hours for minors among others.

A total of 103.57 grams of shabu worth P704,276 in street value, 13 grams of dried marijuana leaves and kush worth P4,120 and several drug paraphernalia were seized in 40 anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of 37 users and 44 pushers.

Violators of the city ordinances were charged, warned, or fined. Police also seized cash from those arrested for illegal gambling.

Torre III commended his officers and men for their relentless operations against criminality and illegal drugs. “Asahan po ninyo na hindi titigil ang kapulisan ng Team QCPD sa aming anti-drug at anti-criminality operations upang tiyakin ang seguridad, kapayapaan at kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan.”
