No Sara in Comelec debate

CONTRARY to the pronouncement of the Commission on Elections, vice presidential candidate and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte is not attending the debate scheduled on March 20.

Mayor Sara’s spokesperson Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco said her camp has not received any formal invitation from the Comelec.

“Vice presidential candidate Sara and her team have not received any informal invitation from the Comelec to join the debate despite their public announcement of her confirmation to attend the event,” Frasco said.

“Be that as it may, whether or not there is an invitation, Mayor Sara will not be attending the debate,” she added.

The vice presidential bet of Lakas-CMD and Hugpong ng Pagbabago has launched her Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride (MNPR) to which her team is touring parts of the country to reach out to Filipino voters.

Earlier , the Comelec said all vice president bets have confirmed their attendance to the debate on March 20 while the presidential debate sponsored by Comelec is set on March 19.

The Comelec said no questions will be given in advance to candidates, and that they are not allowed to bring notes on stage.
