NBL Inter-City cagefest underway

THE 2022 National Basketball League (NBL) Inter-City basketball championship finally comes off the wraps this weekend with a heavy four-game schedule at the Santa Rosa Sports Complex in Laguna.

Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas and Vice Mayor Arnold Arcillas have been invited to attend the opening ceremony, along with Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) president Dr. Robert Calo.

Kicking off hostilities starting at 4 p.m. is the game between Biñan City-Vice Gel and San Pedro City-Leads Agri.

Former PBA player Michael Mabulac will banner the Almer Almazora-mentored Biñan team, along with Allan Mangahas, Macky Guico, Angelo Rosale and Gel Alonte

San Pedro-Leads Agri of coach Dharies Cresencia will led by Ralph Pantaleon, Mark Roca, Reggie Tautoan, Jofer Malveda and Mark Ian Quirante.

Other opening-day matches will pit Calamba- Alta CalamBAGO against Sto Tomas, Batangas-Mr. Cow at 5:30 p.m., San Pedro City-AMB against Nasugbu at 7 p.m. and host Santa Rosa against Cabuyao City at 8:30 p.m.

Calamba of Mayor Roseller H. Rizal and coach Francis Natividad will rely on Lester Maurillo, Joven Alcantara, Patrick Parabulac, Andrew Liu and John Natividad, while Sto. Tomas-Mr. Cow of coach Arjay Murillo and Arthur Pecana will depend on JC Dualan, Kenneth John Calpito and Aries Pecana.

NBL tournament director is Leonardo “Dng” Andres.
