METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman Atty. Romando Artes expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. (PBBM) for placing his trust in his re-appointment to the position.

“The MMDA is close to my heart, having served as the Assistant General Manager [AGM] for Finance and Administration, General Manager, and Chairman in the past five years during the term of then-President Rodrigo Duterte,” Artes said.

“Under my watch as AGM for Finance and Administration, the Agency [has] been given unqualified opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) for three consecutive years, the highest audit rating given to government agencies for good financial management,” he added.

He said he also spearheaded the construction of the new MMDA Building in Pasig City and assisted the Department of Health’s (DOH) vaccination campaign by launching and implementing the “Resbakuna Kids Drive” in the agency.

“As I return to the agency with renewed zest and determination, I vow to continue reforms my predecessors and I have started, as well as introduce new programs and projects to further improve metro-wide services for the benefit of all Metro Manila residents and the general public,” Artes said.
