ORIENTAL MINDORO – Governor Bonz Dolor has distributed cash assistance to drivers as part of the government’s support to the transport sector group.

Dolor thanked Sen. Bato Dela Rosa for providing funds for the purpose through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The governor said he decided to allocate some amount to the local transportation sector severely-affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some 78 members of the Victoria Operator Drivers Cooperative (VODATCO) received P2,000 in cash assistance.

According to some members of the VODATCO, the amount was small but of great help for them.

Dolor, with Dela Rosa’s representative Arnulfo Morales Jr., and DSWD representatives in Naujan town, earlier gave cash incentives to 143 individuals and some 232 transport cooperative members in the towns of Baco, San Teodoro, and Puerto Galera.

The governor also joined the Team GSM in distributing cash aid to senior citizens under the Self Employment Assistance Program.
