Manila breaches 3M mark in vax program
THE city of Manila has breached the three million mark in terms of the total number of vaccine doses administered, while the number of individuals now getting the shots has doubled.
Thus announced Manila Mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko presidential bet Isko Moreno, even as he thanked those behind the city’s mass vaccination program headed by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna and Manila Health Department chief Dr. Poks Pangan, for their swift inoculation.
Moreno said the number of would-be vaccinees during Tuesday’s resumption of the city government’s mass vaccination of eligible population doubled as they were held in 44 health centers, two shopping malls and six community sites.
Moreno, Lacuna and Pangan visited the vaccination hubs to check on the ongoing mass vaccination.
The mayor said that as of 6:30 p.m. of January 3, 3,039,022 vaccine doses have been given by the city government of Manila, with 12,315 shots administered on Monday alone.
So far, Moreno said a total of 1,589, 032 individuals have been vaccinated and of the number, 1,489,068 have been fully-vaccinated. A total of 121,641 vaccinees already received booster shots.
