THE City Government of Malabon inaugurated its second super health center (SHC) in Barangay Potrero, four months after the opening last October 2021 of the first SHC in Brgy. Catmon.

The SHC is a community-based facility that provides free medical consultations for outpatient cases. The first Catmon SHC, offers 24/7 health services, while Potrero SHC will offer the same services by next month. Both SHCs will offer pharmacy, laboratory, and radiological services soon.

Malabon Mayor Lenlen Oreta thanked the City Health Department for the timely opening of the facility. “Patuloy tayong magtulung-tulong para mapaganda pa natin ang kalusugan ng bawat pamilyang Malabonian,” Mayor Lenlen said.

Further, City councilor Enzo Oreta, the principal sponsor of the ordinance to rehabilitate some health centers, welcomed the opening of the facility as a “big win” for Malabonians. “Pangarap natin noon na mailapit sa ating mga kababayan ang serbisyong pangkalusugang hatid ng pamalaang lungsod ng Malabon,” Councilor Enzo said.

Two more SHCs, one each for Barangays Longos and Tonsuya, are currently in the pipeline. They are expected to open and operate in March 2022.

Accompanying Mayor Lenlen and Councilor Enzo during the inauguration were Malabon Representative Jaye Lacson-Noel, Vice Mayor Ninong Dela Cruz, and City Councilors Sonia Lim, Jasper Cruz, and Peng Mañalac.
