MAINTAINING its flawless streak since the preseason, Magnolia extended its undefeated run to 2-0 in the regular season with an impressive 107-92 victory over Phoenix Super LPG at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo on Sunday.

Tyler Bey, a former Dallas Maverick in the NBA, continued his stellar performance as he followed up his 30-20 debut with a remarkable 32-point and 16-rebound showing.

The Hotshots did not only excel offensively but also showcased a robust defensive effort.

Jio Jalalon played a pivotal role on both ends of the court for Magnolia, contributing 20 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

Mark Barroca added 15 points and eight assists while Paul Lee had 13 points.

Magnolia and Phoenix battled fiercely, resulting in a 22-all tie in the opening quarter and a 51-all deadlock at halftime.

However, the Hotshots dominated the Fuel Masters in the subsequent two quarters, ultimately securing a convincing victory.

This triumph enabled them to join the Meralco Bolts and Northport Batang Pier in the top spot with a 2-0 record.

Magnolia sustained its momentum, capitalizing on a 9-0 run initiated by Barroca and Jalalon, turning an 88-75 lead into a commanding 22-point advantage, 97-75, with 7:11 remaining.

Phoenix struggled to mount a comeback, and the Fuel Masters fell to a 1-1 record in the standings.

Jonathan Williams led Phoenix with 26 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists, while Jjay Alejandro, last game’s hero, continued his impressive shooting with 15 points.

Jason Perkins, Javee Mocon, and Kenneth Tuffin each contributed 11 points under the guidance of coach Jamike Jarin.
