Lupao village chief shot dead
LUPAO, Nueva Ecija – A 46-year-old barangay chairman in this town was gunned down in cold blood by two unidentified riding in tandem suspects on early Tuesday morning here.
Killed was barangay captain Reginald Espiritu, of Bgy. San Isidro, this town.
The gun attack transpired at 5:50 a.m.
Investigation showed the victim was in front of his store when the two suspects wearing jackets and pants on board a motorcycle suddenly appeared and shot the barangay official several times before fleeing towards the town proper.
The wounded victim was rushed to the Heart of Jesus Hospital near San Jose City but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
Recovered at the crime scene were two slugs and two unfired bullets for cal.45.
Police are still investigating the killing.
