NEWLY-designated Bureau of Jail Management and Penology – National Capital Region (BJMP-NCR) director Chief Supt. Clint Russel Tangeres has emphasized the need to focus on the mandate of the bureau which is safekeeping and development as they “oar as one” to J.A.I.L Plan 2040 direction.

Part of the J.A.I.L plan 2040 is to become a world-class agency highly capable of providing humane safekeeping and developmental opportunities for their clients – the persons deprived of liberty (PDL).

Tangeres reminded wardens from both the male and female dormitories during his first command conference that they should somehow go back to basics which is to concentrate first on the safekeeping side and everything positive will follow through.

Safekeeping refers to security, escorting, and custodial service which means no jailbreaks or escapes, bloody riots, and most importantly, no complaints of abuses from among the personnel jail officers.
