RK Ilagan hit the buzzer-beating jumper as Alaska Milk stunned Meralco, 94-93, in the PBA Governor’s Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Ilagan came up big for Alaska as he made the game-winning shot over Bong Quinto of Meralco and powered the Aces to their sixth win against three losses in this import-flavored conference.

His heroics also enabled Alaska to escape with the win after blowing as many as 17- point lead.

Michael DiGregorio and import Oluseyi Ashaolu finished with 21 points apiece for the Aces,who are hoping to win the title in their farewell year.

Ashaolu, however, was ejected for a flagrant foul penalty one in the 6:18-mark of the game. He already had a technical foul previously.

Ilagan added 11 points.

Allein Maliksi led the losing effort of the Bolts with 32 points.

Import Tony Bishop had a double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for Meralco.

In the second game, NorthPort made it three wins in a row by beating Phoenix Super LPG, 101-93.

Jamel Artis came through with 29 points, six rebounds and three assists while playing without relief for the second time in three days and Paolo Taha added 19 points as the undermanned Batang Pier improved to 3-5.

Backing them up were Arwind Santos, who added 15 points; Jamie Malonzo, who contributed 13 points and 16 rebounds.and Jerrick Balanza , who had 12.

Dominique Sutton paced Phoenix with 23 point and and 12 rebounds, followed by Matthew Wright with 19-5-6.

Meanwhile, Magnolia hopes to get back into the winning track when it takes on San Miguel Beer in the battle of heavyweights at 6:30 p.m.

The Hotshots are determined to bounce back from a shock 101-103 setback to NorthPort and keep their frontrunning position.

But Magnolia will have to do it against San Miguel and its new import, Shabazz Muhammad.

Muhammad, who played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA from 2013-18, will take the place of Orlando Johnson.
