THE Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) of the Department of Justice has pledged to sustain its fight against human trafficking, considered the world’s third most profitable criminal enterprise after illicit drugs.

The council made this commitment during the recent launch of its Fourth National Strategic Plan at the New Coast Hotel, Malate, Manila, attended by various IACAT member-agencies and partners showing their steadfast support for combating trafficking worldwide.

The launch aimed to promote IACAT’s Strategic Action Plan, which prioritizes four key result areas: Prevention and Advocacy, Protection and Reintegration, Prosecution and Law Enforcement, and Partnership and Networking.

The plan places more emphasis on strategic outcomes to ensure adequate flexibility and adaptability in its implementation, as reflected in the overall theory of change, which serves as IACAT’s strategic framework for designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating anti-trafficking interventions that will create a positive impact in the next five years from 2023-2027.
