HVI with P.9M ‘MJ’ falls in Valenzuela
AUTHORITIES seized almost P1 million worth of dried marijuana leaves from a drug personality listed as a “high-value individual” (HVI) in a buy-bust operation Saturday before dawn in Valenzuela City.
Northern Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Ponce Rogelio Penones, Jr. said elements of Valenzuela Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU), under the direct supervision of city police Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Col. Salvador Destura, Jr., operatives arrested the suspect, 26, an online agent and resident of Bgy. Dalandanan, after he handed a transparent plastic-wrapped brick of marijuana worth P11,000 to a police poseur-buyer.
SDEU chief P/Capt. Joel Madregalejo said the buy-bust operation was conducted at around 1:10 p.m. in front of Dalandanan covered court in the said barangay, following a week-long surveillance and monitoring operation being carried out against the suspect.
Police seized from Co seven more pieces of bricks of marijuana placed in a duffle bag and paper bag valued at P960,000 and marked money.
Destura said a criminal complaint for violation of Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against the arrested suspect through an inquest proceeding at the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office.
