PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil Jr. said the manhunt for fugitive Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy is continuing without any let-up.

“We are working on it. The lead agency is the National Bureau of Investigation and we are helping the NBI to locate him,” said the top cop when he visited the Palo, Leyte headquarters of the Police Regional Office 8 in Eastern Visayas region which he formerly headed from August 15, 2022 to May 2, 2023.

NBI, PNP and members of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms have scoured a number of places in Davao City and its nearby areas in search of the self-proclaimed Son of God but all those operations yielded negative result.

“We are closing in. Hindi naman po talagang mahirap hanapin but meron kaming strategy kung papano talaga. We are diplomatic about it,” Gen. Marbil said.

The PNP chief also maintained that they are doing their best to put Quiboloy behind the bars of justice even as he defended the PNP from allegations that it has been ‘slow’ in implementing the warrants of arrest issued against the known close ally of former President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

Quiboloy is facing qualified human trafficking and child sexual abuse charges and has been ordered jailed for contempt by the Senate.
