Gov. Remulla, VG Tolentino to take oath at Santa Cruz Church in Tanza
TANZA, Cavite – Re-elected Cavite Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla Jr. and Vice Governor-elect Athena Tolentino are set to take the oath of office at the historic Diocesan Shrine of Saint Augustine, commonly known as the Parish of Santa Cruz, in town proper here on June 27, 2022.
Caviteño Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. will administer the oath of office to Remulla, while Athena Tolentino will be sworn-in in front of her uncle Senator Francis Tolentino on the 2nd floor of the Rectoral Area of the church, wherein the artifacts and memorabilia of the history stored.
Remulla has been taking his oath of office at Santa Cruz church as governor of Cavite since he first took office in 2010.
This is Remulla’s fourth inauguration as provincial chief executive since 2010, 2013, 2019, and now 2022, while Tolentino was the first lady vice governor in the history of Cavite politics.
In history, General Emilio Aguinaldo and General Mariano Trias took their oath as President and Vice President on March 23, 1897, of the revolutionary government at the convent of the historic church. It is now called as “Panumpaang Bayan” (Oath Taking Hall).
Remulla and Tolentino will be sworn in by the winning provincial board members in the Cavite’s eight districts, namely Denver Chua and Rommel Enriquez of the 1st District; Edwin Malvar and Ram Revilla of 2nd District, Shernan Jaro and Ony Cantimbuhan of 3rd District; Jun Dela Cuesta and Nickol Austria of 4th District; Marcus Amutan and Aidel Belamide of 5th District; Kerby Salazar and Morit Sison of 6th District; Ping Remulla and Raymundo Del Rosario of 7th District; and Rainier Ambion and Irene Bencito of 8th District.
