German national dies inside Pampanga bank

A GERMAN national who lost consciousness while inside a bank later died at a hospital in Angeles City, Pampanga.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Angeles City police identified the fatality as Manfred Pietsch, 65, temporarily staying in Bgy. Malabanias, Angeles City.

Police was informed by the manager of BPI Bank branch located on Montang Ave., Bgy. Balibago, Angeles City that the foreigner went to the bank to transact about his ATM card.

While talking to a bank personnel, the foreigner suddenly fell to the ground and became unconscious.

Immediately, the bank manager asked the barangay Balibago ambulance to transport Pietsch to the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Hospital but the German was declared dead upon arrival.

Initial probe showed that in an interview with Norbert Wetter, also a German national and friend of the deceased, Pietsch was diagnosed with a lung infection last month in Thailand.

Police will conduct an autopsy on the foreigner to determine the cause of his death.
