Farmer beheads cousin in Zambo Sur
A DRINKING spree turned deadly when a farmer beheaded his own cousin during an argument in Zamboanga del Sur.
Police identified the victim as Simplicio Espanio Lendio, a 56-year-old farmer.
The suspect was Lendio’s cousin Mario Campaña Lendio, 43, also a farmer.
The killing occurred at 3:05 a.m. last Sunday at Purok 1, Lintum Village, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
Prior to the hacking, the victim was having drinks with another cousin Federico Gemina Lendio, 43, when the suspect arrived and joined them.
While having drinks, Simplicio and Mario had a heated argument over past grudges.
The victim allegedly challenged the suspect to a fistfight.
Mario hit hard Simplicio who fell to the ground.
After seeing the victim unconscious, the suspect went home and returned with a scythe and struck his cousin in the neck then fled.
Pursuing lawmen arrested the suspect.
