NORTHERN Police District (NPD) Director P/BGen. Ponce Rogelio Peñones, Jr., lauded the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) for the seizure of more than P1.3 million worth of shabu and the arrest of a woman and his cohort who said to be responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in Caloocan City.

Peñones said the suspect, with the alias “Tintin,” 28, of Bgy. 73 and her accomplice were arrested after conspiring to sell P10,500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop assigned at the DDEU at around 11:25 p.m. along Velasco St. in Bgy. 7.

The duo’s arrest came after almost two weeks of surveillance, monitoring, and intelligence-driven operation conducted by elements of DDEU-NPD led by P/SMSgt. Michael Tagubilin, under the personal supervision of P/Maj. Dennis Odtuhan, Assistant Chief of DDEU.

Operatives recovered from the female suspect more or less 205 grams of shabu valued at P1,394,000, a digital weighing scale, and the marked money.

The NPD top cop said the two suspects were on the list of “high-value individual” (HVI) drug pushers and were included in police and barangay drug watch list.

The suspects were presently detained at the DDEU Custodial Facility pending their presentation for inquest proceedings before the Caloocan City Prosecutor’s Office on charges of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
