DATAMATICS emerged as the champion in the BPO Olympics Season 12 chess tournament.

Bannered by Marc Kevin Labog and Don Tyrone de los Santos, Datamatics brought down five-time champion Accenture in rounds five and six to finish with a perfect score of 35 wins, 0 draws, and 0 losses in the event formerly known as Call Center Olympics.

Accenture-A scored 30 wins and 5 losses to claim the second place; while Conduent took third place.

“We wouldlike to thank our very kind and supportive manager, Ms. Glory Grace Branzuela, who has been there from the beginning to the end, valuing the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship with courage to fight for a win with a heart of Datamatician,” said Datamatics coach John Michael Magpily.

He also stated that Datamatics truly supports the abilities of employees in different sports and passions, not just chess.

“Individuals are very welcome to join Datamatics Philippines as they are currently hiring several talents and offer different jobs,” added Magpily, who also lauded the support of team captain John Maurice Delos Santos, assistant coach – Carlo Pelagio and team manager Marvin Borabien.

The prestigious tournament marked the first appearance of Datamatics Team in the tournament organized by Popcorn Events Production.

Leading the Datamatics Chess Team are Marc Kevin Labog (Board 1); Don Tyrone Delos Santos (Board 2); Jhulo Goloran (Board 3); Stephen Manzanero (Board 4); Jay-R Sumagang (Board 5); and Glory Grace Branzuela (alternate).

Other companies which participated in the event were Accenture A, Accenture B, Asurion, Conduent, Teleperformance, and ISTA Solutions.

The BPO Olympics is an annual event open for all BPOs and their employees.

The event is aimed at promoting fitness as well as sportsmanship and camaraderie among the players in the BPO Industry.

This is also a good venue for BPO employees to showcase their other skills and talents outside work.

This year, the event was held last November 7 at Meralco Gym in Ortigas, Pasig City.
