SENATOR Grace Poe said the foiled cyberattacks should not be taken lightly as she urged all government agencies to look deeper into the reported recent cyber-attack against the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) which was aimed at taking down the website of OWWA.

“While the DICT foiled the intrusion try, the recent incident was a stark reminder that cyber-attacks have become bolder and more relentless,” Poe said in a statement.

Poe insisted the need for concerned government agencies to take a cue from the finding of the DICT on the suspected source of threat actors, “on our privacy and our security,”

The lady solon suggested that the government should be vigilant as he asked the need to fortify website firewall and system should be the task of all agencies maintaining online presence.

“All means should be explored to keep the people’s data secure and uncompromised,” Poe stressed.

Reportedly, the DICT officials confirmed that the agency was able to trace the command-and-control center of the cyber attackers to be operating within China.
