ClaireCLAIRE Castro is one of the most promising new stars today in the Kapuso network. Her effective performance in “Nagbabagang Luha” (which ends next week) as Cielo, the scheming and villainous sister of Glaiza de Castro, is getting great feedback and she’s very happy about this.

“Maraming galit na galit sa akin, pero okay lang,” she says. “I just tell myself na hindi naman sila sa akin galit kundi doon sa mga pinaggagagawa ng character ko.”

Claire auditioned for the role and it has really turned to be a big break out role for her to get noticed. “The character is really very emotionally draining to play,” she adds. “Kasi she has so many lines and most of them are angry outburst kaya nakakapagod din. I’ve done only bit roles before and the role of Cielo is really my biggest break so far.”

How are her parents, former actors Diego Castro and Raven Villanueva, react to her portrayal of Cielo? “They both congratulated me after watching episodes of the show. Natutuwa sila sa positive feedback that I get from netizens, pati sa negative comments kasi that means nagagalit sila kay Cielo dahil effective ang interpretation ko sa kanya on screen.”

She wants to thank their director, Ricky Davao, for guiding her in doing her role. “He made me sure that I really understand my character and where she’s coming from kasi maraming layers ‘yun para maunawaan mo kung saan ang pinanggagalingan niya. I also want to thank my co-stars, Ate Glaiza de Castro, Rayver Cruz, Tita Gina Alajar and Royce Cabrera for all their help. Without them, hindi ko magagampanan ng tama ang character ni Cielo.”

She’s now being romantically linked to Royce but she says they’re just good friends. “Gusto ko muna pong mag-concentrate sa career ko kasi nagsisimula pa lang ako so I want it to have my undivided attention and nothing else. Meantime, don’t miss the last few episodes ng ‘Nagbabagang Luha’ dahil marami pong pasabog na eksena and intriguing twists na gugulat sa inyo.”
