Choco Mucho battles Strong Group
CHOCO Mucho zeroes in on one of the hotly disputed semifinal berths as it faces last-place Strong Group Athletics while Creamline aims to strengthen its own drive against Nxled in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena today.
The anticipation is sky high for this Finals rematch between the Flying Titans and the Cool Smashers at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But for Choco Mucho and Creamline, they are focusing at the task at hand as the two clubs are locked in a hotly-contested six-way battle for four semifinals slots along with PLDT, PetroGazz, Chery Tiggo and Cignal.
The Crossovers swept the HD Spikers, 26-24, 25-20, 26-24, Thursday night to tie with the Angels and the Cool Smashers in third to fifth spots at 6-2.
The Flying Titans and the High Speed Hitters pace the field with 7-1 records but both still need two more wins to secure their semis spots, avoiding potential complications of point tiebreakers.
Idle Akari (4-5) actually still has a mathematical chance but must win all of its remaining matches and hope to the best in the tiebreaker in case there is a tie at 6-5.
The PVL points system will come into play to break the ties and determine qualification.
Choco Mucho is expected to unleash its full potential against Strong Group in their 4 p.m. clash, while Creamline, mixes it up with Nxled at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, Farm Fresh and Galeries Tower, out of it all with identical 2-6 slates, clash for pride at 2 p.m.
