CHESS takes center stage on Rizal Day, December 30 as the much-awaited Atty. Elpidio Bautista, Jr. National Executive Chess championships get underway at the Vista Mall in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The country’s leading players, led by GM Darwin Laylo and GM-elect Ronald Dableo, and top executives, led by actor-model Jao Mapa and senior players will banner a star-studded cast vying in this one-day competition organized by the Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Nuvali.

The event, which offers trophies and cash prizes, is being held for the benefit of the Bright Eyes, Bright Future project.

The champion will get the lion’s share of P20,000 in the Executive division, P10,000 in the Open category and P5,000 in the Senior class.
