TAGUIG 2nd District Rep. Lani Cayetano has reiterated her commitment to bringing the “bayanihan spirit” to more pandemic-hit Filipino families across the country through the Sampung Libong Pag-asa and Sari-saring Pag-asa programs.

Cayetano said she and her husband, former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, have partnered with like-minded public officials and private individuals to in providing cash aid to vulnerable sectors and micro-entrepreneurs amid the pandemic as there is lack of direct stimulus from the government.

The Cayetanos and their allies in the Balik sa Tamang Serbisyo sa Kongreso have been distributing P3,500 capital to select sari-sari store owners to help them replenish their supplies amid the pandemic.

Lani said.

The group has also been providing P10,000 in cash aid under the Sampung Libong Pag-asa program to different sectors across the country whose jobs were severely affected by the pandemic, such as farmers, fisherfolks, jeepney drivers, barangay health workers, and tourism workers, among others.

“Maliit na bagay, pero kapag ito’y ginamit nang tama, napapaunlad at natutugunan nila y’ung pangaraw-araw nilang pangangailangan,” she said.

She reiterated her call for the approval of the 10K Ayuda under the 2022 national budget, saying the cash assistance is not meant to “tolerate laziness” but to help the economy gradually get back up.

Rep. Lani added that the success of the thousands of beneficiaries of the Sampung Libong Pag-asa program in growing the P10,000 in cash aid they received inspires them to continue pushing for the advocacy.
