Caloocan trikers get 1st Moderna jab

AROUND 600 tricycle drivers belonging to the list of workers eligible under A4 category received their first jab of Moderna vaccine on Monday in Caloocan city.

Caloocan City COVID-19 Vaccination Action Officer Dra. Rachel Basa said the inoculation of tricycle drivers which was carried out at the Camarin D Elementary School in North Caloocan was done through the initiative of Mayor Oscar “Oca” Malapitan.

Dra. Basa said Mayor Oca pushed for the inoculation of tricycle drivers plying in Camarin area to give them extra protection against Covid-19 while doing their job.

“Ang ating mga tricycle driver ay kabilang sa essential workers o economic frontliners. Mahalaga na maprotektahan natin sila hindi lang para sa kanilang sarili kundi para na rin sa kanilang pamilya at komunidad,” Mayor Oca said.

The city chief executive reserved the available Moderna vaccine for tricycle drivers who wishes to get their first jab of the vaccine against Covid-19 at the Camarin D. Elementary School which started at 8 a.m. and ended up at 4 p.m.
