Calamba marks 280th founding anniversary
CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The city government here celebrated the 280th anniversary of the establishment of the locality Tuesday, August 30, 2022, in front of the city hall.
In the message of Mayor Roseller “Ross” Rizal, he wants such a celebration to be “fruitful” through the programs launched by the government in his first month in office.
These are the “Moral Enhancement Program, Nature and Sanitation for Safety” and the “Calambagong Pamahal Caravan: Government Approaches the People”.
Rizal also thanked everyone for giving him the opportunity to implement his promise of “sensible” reform of Calamba.
The said celebration was also attended by Congresswoman Charisse Alcantara, city dads, city officials, employees from various local government departments, and private sector representatives.
Calamba was founded on August 28, 1742, and formed into the town of Calamba in 1770. It became a component city on April 21, 2001, by virtue of Republic Act 9024.
