Boy, 3, drowns in Batangas river

A THREE-YEAR-OLD baby boy drowned while swimming in the river in San Nicolas, Batangas last Sunday, according to a report received by police.

Initial investigation showed the baby drowned while he and his family were swimming at the Pansipit River in Bgy. Bangin around 5 p.m. on May 2

The baby was declared dead on arrival at hte Batangas Provincial Hospital in Lemery.

Pansipit River is a short river which is the sole drainage outlet of Taal Lake, which empties at Balayan Bay. The river stretches some nine kilometers and passes passing along the municipalities of Agoncillo, Lemery, San Nicolas, and Taal.

Meanwhile, the San Pascual Municipal Police arrested two men for allegedly stealing equipment from the Kaingin Elementary School in Bgy. Kaingin, San Pascual, Batangas.

The arrested suspects were identified as John Adrian Liwag and John Carlo Gabriel Geonzon .

Allegedly found missing from the school were a 40-inch Devant Smart TV, Sony AUD speaker and a Hi Sense FHD TV.

School authorities immediately sought the assistance of San Pascual MPS personnel who conducted follow-up operations and coordinated with adjacent municipalities which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
