Bicol’s most wanted rape suspect nabbed

POLICE Regional Office 5 (PRO5) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo on Thursday announced the capture of one of Bicol region’s most wanted rape suspects during a manhunt operation in Camarines Norte.

The official identified the arrested suspect as Jethro Esperanza, a resident of Purok 4, Barangay North Centro, Sipocot, Camarines Norte. The suspect is the subject of a warrant of arrest for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or the anti-child abuse law issued by Judge Leo Intia of the Labo Regional Trial Court Branch 64.

No bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused.

The suspect was tracked down in his hiding place by members of the Camarines Norte Police Provincial Office and the Labo Municipal Police Station under Colonel Julius D. Guadamor.

The Bicol police director said a background check showed the suspect was accused of raping a neighbor in Labo town early this year before going into hiding in Sipocot municipality.

The suspect is being held at the Labo police lock-up facility pending his presentation to court.
