CAMP GEN. MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas – The Batangas Police Provincial Office (BPPO) is on “high alert” under Provincial Director Police Colonel Pedro D. Soliba and through the supervision of Police Regional Office Calabarzon (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr., following the announcement of the “week-long” transport strike nationwide from March 6 to 12, 2023.

A Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) was formed by the Batangas PPO to ensure the security of the public who will be affected by the transport strike.

Law enforcement operations such as police visibility, mobile patrolling, and police checkpoints in the province of Batangas have also been intensified.

The police will continue cooperating with local government units (LGUs), force multipliers, and other government agencies to ensure the safety and security of every commuter affected by the transport strike.

“We have police officers deployed at terminals and other places where commuters board public transportation to provide security. Our ‘Libreng Sakay’ program also supports the delivery of stranded passengers. The public is reminded to stay in their homes if it is not necessary to go out,” Soliba said.
