CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – In another feather on its cap, the Bataan Provincial Police Office (PPO), led by Col. Romelle Velasco, got several awards during the 27th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at Camp Olivas, Pampanga.
Meanwhile, impressed by their devotion to duty and service to the public, Bataan Governor Joet S Garcia also hailed Velasco and his police officers for turning the province more “peaceful and orderly”.

Working under the theme: “Ugnayang Pulisya at Komunidad Tungo sa Mapayapa, Maayos at Maunlad na Pamayanan,” the PCR month celebration was actually highlighted by providing recognition to police personnel who have done a commendable job in Central Luzon.

Under Velasco’s stint, the Bataan PPO has made laudable actions in protecting the public and bringing the government “closer to the people”.

Journalists learned that before his designation as police provincial director of Bataan, Velasco was a former PCR chief in Camp Olivas, gaining the support and respect of reporters.

Also chosen as “Outstanding Municipal Police Station” was Hermosa Police Station under Maj. Emerson Coballes; while the “Outstanding Provincial Mobile Force Company” went to Bataan First Provincial Mobile Force under its Force Commander Lt. Col. Elias Tait; and the “Outstanding Police Provincial Office” to Bataan PPO.

In a statement, “Pagbati sa mga men and women in uniform ng Bataan Police Provincial Office, (BPPO) na pinamumunuan ni Acting Provincial Director PCol. Romell Velasco, na tumanggap ng parangal at pagkilala ngayong araw sa pagdiriwang ng ika-27 taong Police Community Relations Month (PCR),” said Gov. Garcia.

“Taos-puso ang pasasalamat naming mga Bataeño sa lahat ng ating mga kapulisan sa inyong hindi matatawarang serbisyo at sakripisyo upang mapanatili ang kaayusan at kapayapaan dito sa ating lalawigan,” added Garcia.
