Arrested Indian nat’l admits to other robberies in QC

AUTHORITIES arrested an Indian national who reportedly confessed that he was responsible  for several robbery incidents victimizing Indian nationals in Quezon City.

The suspect identified as Sandeep Singh, 30, and a resident of Brgy. Ramon Magsaysay, Quezon City was

arrested by the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) operatives for an alleged robbery incident that occurred at 1 p.m. Wednesday along Ilang-Ilang St., Bgy. Payatas, Quezon City.

Based on the report, victim Kuldeep Singh went to Brgy. Payatas to collect debt payments on board his motorcycle when the suspect Sandeep Singh appeared from behind and at gunpoint, declared a holdup.

The suspect took the victim’s money worth P2,500 and attempted to escape towards Brgy. Payatas,.

However, the victim grabbed him from behind which prevented him from escaping.

The incident caught the attention of the patrolling PS 13 Tactical Motor Riding Unit (TMRU) police officers and arrested Sandeep Singh. Authorities also recovered the stolen money and a gun replica inside the suspect’s black sling bag.

During investigation at the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) Office, Sandeep Singh confessed that he was recently involved in several robbery incidents within the area of Quezon City. This prompted the CIDU operatives to conduct a follow-up operation at the suspect’s residence and recovered a hand grenade inside his drawer.

The suspect will be charged with robbery; violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and violation of R.A. 9516 otherwise known as The Illegal Possession of Explosives and will be referred to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

“The presence of police officers aims to prevent the occurrence of the crime. Ito din ay upang mailayo ang ating Qcitizens sa anumang kapahamakan,” PBGEN Nicolas D Torre III said as he lauded the personnel for their quick response in the said incident.
