VICE President Sara Z. Duterte and her staff deserve the all-out support of the people as she makes her office more accessible to Filipinos, particularly the ordinary citizens.

In fact, the satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) are doing a great job in meeting the needs of the people in various parts of this impoverished nation.

Vice President Duterte’s chain of satellite offices, including one in Dagupan City in vote-rich Pangasinan, offers “a menu of services,” such as medical and burial assistance.

Other OVP satellite offices are in Cebu, Tacloban City (Leyte), Zamboanga, Davao, Surigao del Sur and Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.

Her various assistance programs have already benefited nearly 112,000 Filipinos, including 98,293 passengers who availed themselves of her “Libreng Sakay” program.

Already, many unfortunate members of society, like malnourished kids and victims of natural and man-made disasters, have benefited from Duterte’s various programs.

So headstrong in addressing our many problems that continue to slow down our socio-economic development that the OVP is working hard to further improve its services.

Last Sunday, VP Duterte, a lawyer, also announced that “OVP Kalusugan” food trucks will soon be deployed in more areas to help children recover from malnutrition.

“In the coming days…the food trucks will be on the road addressing malnutrition among school children and children affected by natural and human-induced calamities,” she said.

The OVP food trucks, she said, will be deployed in target areas for 120 days, completing the cycle in which a child’s nutrition cycle is adequately addressed.

In the view of many quarters, bringing government services, through the OVP, even to far-flung communities across this Southeast Asian nation is a move in the right direction.
