CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Eight former rebels returned to the fold of the law in Central Luzon.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the former insurgents laid down their arms and turned themselves over to authorities in Bataan, Olongapo, Tarlac, and Pampanga.

Among them were former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) associated with Anakpawis Bulacan Chapter, Gabriela, Bagong Hukbong Bayan and UGMO (Underground Mass Organization).

Hidalgo said the surrender served as testament to the effectiveness of the government’s reconciliation programs, which have been in place for years.

He added that the government has firmly committed to supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of these former rebels into society, ensuring they have access to education, job training, and various essential services.
