LIMANG local drug manufacturers ang gagawa ng anti-tuberculosis medicines.

Ayon sa Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) Health Sector Group, nagkainteres ang limang kompanya bilang pagtalima sa panawagan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Ayon kay Paolo Borromeo, PSAC Healthcare Sector Lead, nakatutuwa na may umaksyon sa apela ni Pangulong Marcos.

“We are very proud of the collaboration with DOH (Department of Health), the focus on TB and HIV, which are two of our more dreaded diseases and increasing in terms of numbers of cases,” pahayag ni Borromeo.

“We are happy to say that five local drug manufacturers signed up to participate in the production of anti-TB medicines, and to participate in national bids to be conducted by the DOH. In fact, I believe there was a bid last November and we are waiting for the results,” dagdag ni Borromeo, na tumatayo ring President at Chief Executive Officer (CEO) ng Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc.

Ayon kay Borromeo, maraming manufacturers ang walang gana na gumawa ng gamot sa TB.

Pero dahil sa mga reporma na ginawa ng Pangulo, limang kompanya ang nagkainteres na gumawa.
