A land dispute, ‘tiff’ with boss – PNP Ecija

SAN LEONARDO, Nueva Ecija – Two separate manhunt operations conducted by the police in this town on Tuesday have resulted in the arrest of two suspects with arrest warrants for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

In a report to Nueva Ecija Police Commander Col. Richard V. Caballero, police head Major Jaime P. Ferrer said one of the arrested suspects is a 27-year-old jobless woman, a resident of Barangay Castellano, this town.

“Itong si suspect na babae ay tungkol sa awayan sa lupa. Ipinost niya sa Facebook iyung kaaway niya na inaagawan sila ng lupa,” Ferrer told the Journal Group on Wednesday.

He said the woman was nabbed by virtue of an arrest warrant for cyber libel charges issued by the Gapan City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 34 Judge John Voltaire C. Venturina with recommended bail set at P60,000 for her temporary liberty.

In the other operation, which was conducted jointly with the Nueva Ecija Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Unit (CIDU), arrested was a mechanic, of Bgy. Magpapalayok, this town.

Ferrer said the suspect, who has a warrant for two counts of cyber libel also issued by Judge Venturina, got into trouble after posting his supposed “rift” with his boss on Facebook.

“Si suspect mechanic natin ay nagka-warrant naman dahil nag-post din sa Facebook ng away sa opisina nila ng kanyang manager,” he said.

Ferrer said the court had set the suspect’s bail at P10,000 for each count of cyber libel charge slapped against him.
