AUTHORITIES arrested two men allegedly involved in selling rice sacks with markings of “Dinorado Farmer’s Choice” without the consent from its sole distributor Monday evening in Malabon City.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot said Nicomedes Bren, 54 of 141 Melon Road, Brgy. Potrero and Christian Calderon, 35 of Bunducan, Bocaue, Bulacan were arrested in an entrapment operation by operatives of Station Investigation and Detective Management Section (SIDMS) led by P/SSgt. Jeric Tindugan and P/Cpl. Anastacio Pangan, Jr. at around 7 p.m. at Block 52 Villa Martinez, Bautista St. Brgy. Panghulo.

The case stemmed from the complaint of Northern Luzon Grain Dealer Inc. represented by Kristian David Rivera, 37, after the suspects offered to sell rice sacks with markings of “Dinorado Farmer’s Choice” on their facebook account worth P5.50 centavos each wherein the complainant was the sole distributor.

Col. Barot said a police poseur-buyer was able to transact 3,000 pieces of rice sacks from the suspects in exchange for P16,500 marked money consisting of three pieces P1,000 genuine bill and 13 pieces of boodle money.

The arrested suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Malabon City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation on R.A 8293 of the Intellectual Property Act and Estafa.
